My 3G Experience

Hey Guys Today I'm Posting about yu guesses it the release of 4G by my service provider of choice Digicel Barbados it was launched at the early hours of this morning around 2am /3am since for some of the people on my twitter who are digicel users usually stay up late and the first body on my TL to freak out so to speak was Kyle and almost 2secs after he tweeted mine changed to 3G as well I am currently Using an iPhone 3G and so far my complaints are minimal I have some speed test results the moment it landed Which would be the image below showed a Dl rate of 1.58Mbps and an upload of .19mbps , but this was on its intial release at 2:52 Am,
my friends from Bajan4iPhone did a head to head comparison of the 3G data network will have a video posted in a separate post but the difference between the network speed were great, as know in Barbados it is a constant War between Digicel customers and Lime Customers determining which is better but i have to say after watching that video I gave the jacket to Lime for winning the Speed Test

but even with the fact that we are behind Lime i must say i am thoroughly enjoying the quicker speeds but my battery life is the small price to pay for the quicker speeds but as the day progressed what i noticed is that 3G gets no higher than 3Bars for Digicel in my area so far  but with time it should get better also just for those who haven't heard the blackberry 8520 doesn't support. With Lime and Digicel going 3G/4G i hope this brings the rise to more End Users leaving the blackberry arena in search of better things such as what iPhone has to offer, as well as Windows Phone 7 and Android OS

Google Q3 profits beat estimates, 190M Androids activated - GSMArena.com news

Larry Page, who not so long ago took over as Google's CEO, handed in the company's Q3 financial results with a big smile on his face. Revenues were up 33% Year-on-Year (YoY) to $9.72 billion.

Of that cool 31% transferred into operating income ($3.06 billion) and 24% ($2.21 billion) went to advertisers. The same numbers for last year's Q3 were 35% ($2.55 billion) and 26% ($1.81 billion).

The number of paid clicks on Google's ads increased 28% YoY and 13% compared to the previous quarter of this year. They were 5% more expensive too, both YoY and consecutively.

Larry Page also boasted on Google+ that there are now 190 million activated Android devices around the world. Last time, that number was 135 million. The Google revenue from mobile devices also grew 2.5 times over the last year.

Google+ (which Page used to do the bragging) has hit 40 million users who have uploaded 3.4 billion photos. Another Google project - Chrome - is doing very well too, breathing down Firefox's neck for second place in the browser market with 200 million users.

If you want more numbers, check out Google's press release and have a look at Page's Google+ post too.

APPLE HAS MANY BUGS written by Corey Worrell

APPLE HAS MANY BUGS
written by Corey Worrell

Yesterday (Oct 13th) I put this post on my facebook:
The Storm was an iFlop, the Playbook was an iFail, the BB batteries are iDead, the Messenger is iSilent, now today RIM Stocks iDown by 20%. Maybe Blackberry's RIM should be Chrome. That way they can reflect Apple's success. iPhone 4S to the world...........

One of my friends replied:
Stop hating Corey, won't b surprised if Aapple has some kind of bug soon

Belows story is inspired by the comment above.iWrite .............

A bug is a pest, which means Apple has many bugs, the biggest of them all is the ANTdroid, known as the Queen Bug.

This bug, the antdroid has the DNA of a chameleon, it copies what it sees and infests all the bugs in its colony with this disease.

Some bugs are known for their durability and HARDNESS, like the Nokia, so other bugs that are microSOFT team up with them as a measure of defense and survival.

In all bug colonies there can be found the GAY bug. Last time i heard, the bug SONY had Eric's Son

Some other bugs love the fast lane and always on the highways. These bugs are known as the Motor Rolas and they dress Razor sharp but they were always sick so the doctor recommended a Tabletbut that didn't help so they were put out of the colony in a Xoom or should I say, a hurry.

In each colony you can find a talented bug. This bug, SAM had a beautiful voice and could really sing. He produced many singles like, Upstage, Eternity, Impression, Instinct HD, Rogue, Vibrant, Nexus, Infuse, and Conquer but disappointedly didn’t generate much sales. Uncle Sam and Aunt Droids soon to be adopted son RIM, heard that uncle Sam performed a hit that was out of this world that could go platinum. When asked which song he sung, Aunt Droid said, Sam sung, Galaxy.

There could be a possibility that uncle Sam and aunt Droid may be planning on adopting RIM who seems to be in trouble.

RIM has his own colony called the WATNEX. All the bugs are messengers and are easily identified by their PINS. Each year, the bugs would receive new uniforms, as is the custom of the colony. The uniforms were Pearl white yet Bold in their design and fit the Curves of the females quite well. The colony wasn’t satisfied and felt like they were being taken on a Tour because each year the new uniforms would look the same and as a result kicked up a Storm. RIM as leader became upset with his colony’s behavior, took up a Torch and threatened to burn down the colony but the battery in the Torch went dead.

RIM had to find a solution and revolutionized the colony’s uniform and presented them with a new uniform called the PlayBook. The uniform fitted comfortably but was rejected because the design was plain, lacking creativity and finesse and didn’t have many features. The colony had enough and staged a 3-day protest, which meant, all the messengers stopped working and as a result no messages were sent out.

In conclusion, the bugs that Apple currently have are indeed real but are no real threat to the Apple colony as their head quarters is protected by Gorilla Glass. Apple just makes sense and is grounded in their 4S policy: iSmart, iSafe, iStylish and iSIRIous

RIP Steve Jobs, iSad.

Silverbird : Lightweight Tweeting Tool For Chrome Users

Hi Guys, Today i'm gonna be talking about a lightweight chrome based tweeting extension know as silverbird found in the chrome webstore

Pros:
Quick Access To Your Twitter Time Line
Nice UI with nice themes
In a Pretty Convienent Location
Allows Posting Link and Pictures
Customizable iCon colors

Cons
No Ability to use service like Deck.ly or tmi.me
No Enter to Tweet
Size Limit to the Feed

So That is how it looks in the chrome webstore (after installed) now usually with most chrome webstore apps you see an app in this section below, NB usually extension go next to the address

But In fact it isn't it is next to the address bar  look for a Blue Bird Before Any tweets

And Here You Have Silverbird

Now Onto The Silverbird User Interface:

Silverbird's UI isnt anything too flashy just simple and to the point

You Have 5 Tabs (Unified , Home , Mentions (@<Username> , DMs and then your favourites)
You Also have a search box and the ability to show tweets by list

Unified is the other 4Tabs in one Stream , TL or Feed (whatever you choose to call it)
Now onto Feeds and Tweeting

As you can see when tweeting it appears over your TL interface - you have your usual character limit of 140 (no tweetlonger services) , you can add a URL, or a Picture as you can see where there was the select list area you see it is filled you canhave your list so lets say you have a Feed for just family members select that list and Go have they're feeds there not mixed in with all the others you follow

you also have the old school RT and new ones

For A Simple Twitter Client Silverbird gets the job done to some extent.......something you would get if yu want quick access to your tweets while browsing or see if someone mentioned you or anything of the sort...but if you are a heavy tweeter stick to tweetdeck or Ubersocial

App Rating : 6/10
